PRESS RELEASE *

The Government of the Russian Federation at its meeting on April 3, 2008 took the following decisions on the items on its agenda.

1. On the plan of measures to achieve the quantitative and qualitative targets of the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Russian Federation set for 2008.

The Government of the Russian Federation has taken note of the report of the Minister of Industry and Energy of the Russian Federation on the above issue.

The meeting approved, in line with the discussion that took place, the plan aimed at achieving the quantitative and qualitative targets set for the Ministry of Industry and Energy for 2008.

2. On the draft strategy of tourism development in the Russian Federation to the year 2015.

The Government of the Russian Federation took note of the report on the above issue by V.I.Strzhalkovsky, the head of the Federal Agency for Tourism (Rosturism).

Rosturism jointly with the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Education and Science, the Finance Ministry, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Natural Resources and other federal executive power bodies concerned, in collaboration with the power bodies of the regions of the Russian Federation shall finalize, in accordance with the discussion held, the drafts of the strategy of the development of tourism in the Russian Federation in the period to 2015 and the plan of measures to implement it, with a focus on:

• Identifying priority tourism development areas;
• Adjustment of the content, composition and timeframes for implementing the above measures;
• Studying the issues of the participation of the Russian regions in the development of tourism;
• Financial and economic validation of the measures proposed.

The finalized drafts of the strategy of the development of tourism in the Russian Federation to the year 2015 and the plan of measures to implement it shall be submitted to the Government of the Russian Federation prior to June 1, 2008.

S.Ye. Naryshkin shall assess the materials submitted.

The Ministry of Economic Development and Rosturism with the participation of the regional government bodies and the local self-government bodies concerned shall consider the issue of effective use of the coastal strip for tourist and recreation purposes raised at the meeting.

The relevant proposals shall be submitted to the Government of the Russian Federation within two weeks.

3. On the draft Federal Law “On Introducing Amendments to Chapter V of the Federal Law on Court Bailiffs.”

The meeting approved the draft Federal Law “On Introducing Amendments to Chapter V of the Federal Law On Court Bailiffs” and decided to introduce it at the State Duma.

4. On the Draft Federal Law “On Introducing Amendments to Article 13 of the Federal Law On the Status of Servicemen”

The meeting approved the draft Federal Law “On Introducing Amendments to Article 13 of the Federal Law On the Status of Servicemen” and decided to introduce it at the State Duma.

5. On the Draft Federal Law “On Introducing Amendments to the Federal Law On the Names of Geographical Objects”.

The meeting approved the draft federal law “On Introducing Amendments to the Federal Law On the Names of Geographical Objects” and decided to introduce it at the State Duma.

6. On introducing amendments to the Statute on the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation.

The meeting passed a draft decree of the Government of the Russian Federation to the effect.

7. On the institution of the heraldic emblem and flag of the Federal Air Navigation Service.

The meeting approved the draft decree of the Government of the Russian Federation on the above issue.
