The Ministry of Justice is a federal agency under the executive branch responsible for drafting and implementing national policy and legal regulation in the following areas:
• execution of penal sanctions
• registration of non-profit organisations, including branches of international organisations and foreign non-profit, non-governmental organisations, public associations, political parties and religious organisations
• activities of lawyers and notaries, state registration of instruments of civil status,
court compliance with established procedure and the execution of court decisions and the rulings of other agencies
• law enforcement, monitoring and supervising the registration of non-profit organisations, including branches of international organisations and foreign non-profit non-governmental organisations, public associations, political parties and religious organisations, activities of lawyers and notaries, and state registration of instruments of civil status.
