The Ministry of Education and Science is a federal agency under the executive branch responsible for:
• drafting national policy and legislation in education, research, and for technological and innovation projects
• the development of federal research and high technology centres, state research centres and science communities, intellectual property, as well as youth policy, moral education, custody and guardianship, social support and social security of students at educational establishments.
