The Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN of Russia) is a federal body of executive authority responsible for law enforcement, control, and supervision in the sphere of meting punishment to those found guilty, upkeep of individuals suspected or accused of crimes and of the accused in custody, guarding and escorting them, as well as control over the conduct of probationers and offenders with deferred punishment.
